Tamara Young's journey as a parenting coach isn't just a story of personal growth and transformation; it's also a tale of remarkable success in her chosen path. One of the pivotal moments in her journey was when she made the leap from an aspiring parenting coach to a professional one by securing her first client.
After completing her training in January of 2023, Tamara was armed with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact on the lives of parents and families. However, like many emerging professionals, she grappled with the universal feeling of imposter syndrome. She questioned
whether she was "good enough" and whether her experiences as a parent, filled with its own imperfections and challenges, qualified her to guide others.
But Tamara's unwavering determination and belief in her purpose prevailed. She decided to take action and joined fellow Jai Parenting Coach Destini Ann Davis's social media class, which taught her how to improve her online presence and engage with her audience more effectively. With newfound confidence and commitment, Tamara embarked on a journey to share her wisdom, insights, and experiences with others through social media.
A turning point came when Tamara challenged herself to post content regularly on her social media platforms. This commitment to sharing her authentic self and knowledge with the world yielded remarkable results. She shared that she thought to herself, "I'm still dealing with my kids. I'm imperfect as a parent. My kids are imperfect, so why would somebody want to listen to me? But I think that's also the power." She decided to take a chance and put herself out there to show up online consistently.
She realized that if “I can still do it and I'm having all these hiccups and my kids are having these hiccups, but I'm still seeing growth, then it's just encouraging other parents that it's not gonna look perfect."
In just one month, she secured her first client. This individual saw the value in Tamara's approach, felt a deep connection, and recognized her expertise.
Tamara's success didn't stop there. In fact, it marked the beginning of a journey that has seen her continue to grow and thrive as a parenting coach.
Another discovery call soon followed, and it was clear that Tamara's unique blend of empathy, authenticity, and practical advice resonated deeply with parents seeking guidance. "I don't feel pressure. I don't feel like this sense of, like, I've gotta do anything but be myself, and my people come to me."
Her ability to connect with parents on a profound level, to understand their concerns, and to offer solutions tailored to their unique circumstances has set her apart in the field. Tamara's clients often express how she "gets them" and how they feel understood in a way they never have before. This innate ability to connect has propelled her journey to success.
Tamara's story serves as a beacon of hope for anyone embarking on a new career path or striving to make a difference in the lives of others. Her success in getting clients affirms her expertise and underscores the transformative power of authenticity and dedication.
As she continues to thrive as a parenting coach, Tamara Young is a testament to the idea that our dreams can become a reality. Her journey reminds us that it's not the absence of self-doubt but the courage to act despite it that leads to success. With each client she guides, Tamara is changing individual lives and shaping a future where parenting is grounded in empathy, understanding, and the pursuit of meaningful connections within families.
"This is really my purpose. This is what I want to do with my life."
